1/25/2012 - Frommer trained horses enjoy big week

Bill and Scarlett Simpson's Dunbarton Stable LLC's Friscan, the winner of the 2011 Aiken Trials Coward Trophy, was among the four winners trained by Tim and Cary Frommer, who won races this past week, scoring a victory in a 5 1/2-furlong allowance race Friday at Laurel Park.
Eric Singer's Isle Get Ready has been a model of consistency, and she made it consecutive wins, this time running down her foe Miso Good in a 7-furlong race at Laurel Park Jan. 19, getting up to win by a nose at the wire. The Christopher Grove charge was bred by Gainesway Thoroughbred's Ltd, and paid $30.20 to win. The 4-year-old daughter of Grade 1 winner More Than Ready has 4 wins from 11 lifetime starts, has placed second twice, and finished third three times, increasing her career earnings to $77,740.
Klaravich Stables, Inc. and William Lawrence's Leave of Absence, a 4-year-old colt by multiple Grade 1 winner Harlan's Holiday, won a 6-furlong allowance race Sunday at Aqueduct by 3/4-length. The Rick Violette, Jr. charge was bred in Florida by Barry and Tiki Berkelhammer. Leave of Absence has 3 wins, placed second twice and finished third once in 10 lifetime starts, and has bankrolled $147,700.
Dana Point Farm's Maybe's Master made it consecutive victories with a 1 3/4-length victory in a 1-mile race Friday at Laurel Park. The 3-year-old chestnut gelding by Grade 2 winner Greeley's Galaxy is conditioned by Michael Trombetta, and has 2 wins from 3 starts, having earned $42,690.
